  • Group Therapy

    Group therapy provides peer support, encouragement, education, coaching, and reinforcement throughout the process of the identified function of the group. Group therapy reduces the sense of isolation individuals can face during their therapeutic experience. Group members are able to learn to cope with their problems and allowed to see how others deal with similar problems.

    Groundwork Healing, LLC offers a wide range of group options such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Training (DBT), Child Abuse Response & Education group (CARE), Sexual Abuse Family Education group (SAFE), and Problematic Sexual Behavior group (PSB).

  • Assessments

    Groundwork Healing, LLC offers several types of assessments (sometimes called “evaluations”), including mental health assessments, sexual risk assessments, and violence risk assessments. These assessments are conducted over several sessions, completed both in-person and via telehealth, by specialized clinicians.

    These assessments are often referred by the Department of Health and Human and Department of Corrections, however, individuals may self-refer.

    Please note that we cannot provide neuropsychological, psychological, or substance use assessments/evaluations, nor can we provide CODE or Level of Care assessments.

  • Telehealth

    Telehealth allows counseling sessions to occur remotely via your computer, tablet, or phone while allowing for video and audio contact.

    The client can be at any location to utilize telehealth, so long as they are in the state of Maine and have privacy for the session. You can make arrangements for your appointments to occur via telehealth by speaking with staff at Groundwork Healing, LLC.

    To be able to utilize telehealth services, you must have a dependable internet connection. In addition, please check that telehealth (sometimes called “telemedicine”) is a service covered by your health insurance.

    If you are scheduled for a telehealth appointment, you will be able to access telehealth via your patient portal - MYIO. MIYO is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play, as well as your browser.
